NLCHI RESPONSE TO COVID-19

Our Focus

The Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information’s (NLCHI) mandate is to assist and support individuals, communities, regional health authorities (RHAs), health service providers, and policy makers to enhance the health and well-being of persons in the province through the planning and delivery of health and community services by:

  • Developing, managing, and operating a comprehensive and aligned information system;
  • Developing data and technical standards;
  • Managing provincial health data and information assets;
  • Preparing health reports and conducting research and evaluation;
  • Providing analytics and decision support services.

NLCHI protects the privacy of individuals whose personal information or personal health information is collected, used, disclosed, stored, or disposed of by the Centre in accordance with the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Personal Health Information Act.

Virtual Care - Telehealth

Providing the technology to allow RHA and private practice clinicians to safely and securely host virtual appointments with patients.

Bridge the gapp

Expanding awareness and access to the online mental health resources available in Newfoundland and Labrador.

811 Support

Providing technical support for RHAs to manage 811 call volumes.

RHA Technical Operations

Ongoing technical operational support to the RHAs during COVID-19.

HEALTHe NL and eDOCSNL

Adding additional functionality to support COVID-19 activities.

Work from Home

Providing various technical solutions and devices to allow NLCHI and RHA staff to safely and securely work from home.

RHA COVID-19 Clinic Support

Project Management and technical resources to assist the RHAs with initial planning, set up, devices, connectivity, and technical support for the new clinics.

Application development and data analytics for several DHCS and RHA requests specific to COVID-19.
