Clinical Information Programs
As the Centre continues to develop and complete Electronic Health Record (EHR) projects, once operational they transition to the Clinical Information Programs Division. The Clinical Information Programs Division currently provides oversight and leadership provincially for the provincial Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), the Pharmacy Network Program as well as the labs and shared health record systems (iEHR/Labs project) in the future; these programs are key components of the provincial EHR. With the support and engagement of numerous committees and provincial stakeholders, the Centre is responsible for the Governance of the provincial EHR. Additionally, the provincial Telehealth program is supported from a provincial strategy, coordination and scheduling perspective within the Clinical Information Programs Division.
The Clinical Information Programs Division is also responsible for EHR projects’ change management which involves the strategic and systematic planning and implementation of documents, tools, processes and activities to support the successful transition to, and adoption of, electronic health solutions. The outcome of these eHealth change management activities results in higher solution adoption by end users and a more full realization of benefits.
To enable health system transformation, which is the promise of the EHR, the Clinical Information Program team is engaged at every level, from integration with the projects team in planning these very large projects through to full operational support and subsequent benefits realization.
